Chapter 8.
Friend or Foe?
After a long hiatus, I'm back at it again. A LOT has happened. Hmm, where do I start?
Here we go. Let's do a recap. From being a concert goer, to tourney for futsal, joining marathon, and not forgetting traveling, my life is pretty much hectic. A year into work-life balance got me busy. Not complaining, more of enjoying every single bit. You know the saying "enjoy the little things in life".
I have never been to so many concerts within a year! To my surprise, I actually went for 5 concerts in June '24 onwards Fenomena Dato' Sri Siti Nurhaliza, Newboys, Setia Band, Wali Band, Ne-yo. I believe I might have missed out a few other concerts starting of the year hehe.
I was a former atheletic back in school so I decided to be competitive in running. My first 10km run was with Garmin, and guess what? I kinda like it. It made me feel like I was running away from everything, until I saw the finish line! I also joined the 5km run for both Great Eastern & Doraemon. Trust me when I say it was way easy and manageable compared to the 10km.
As you know by now, my passion has always been soccer. I had opportunity to join my first futsal tourney with Nighthawks for the SMU Diva La Futbol. Eventhough my team did not win, it was refreshing. The adrenaline rush, only god knows haha! I then had another opportunity to play alongside with Nighthawks again for the Got To Goal tourney and secured first runner-up! With all kinds of emotions running through, it was a nice feeling to win! (:
Congratulations to me for being brave!
On 17th Dec '24, I managed to secure seats for the SG vs THAILAND live match at the National Stadium. Somehow, I had hope for a win. We were doing great in the first half, however, we lost to Thailand with a score of 2-4. Did I mention that it was my first live match?
Almost there, I've covered most of it, reaching the end of this entry. Holiday time!
Went to Bali again in September and did ATV and water rafting. It's nice to be back and to be doing activities! Went up to Mount Batur, but the only difference was that I didn't hike, unlike the last time. Took really nice scenic photos throughout this trip! Last but not least, the most awaited holiday trip during Xmas and New Year; JAPAN BOUND!! I love everything about Japan. It was the longest holiday, clocking in at 13 days I visited 4 cities - Tokyo, Mount. Fuji, Kyoto & Osaka. The itinerary was packed to the brim with sightseeing, Disneysea Japan & USJ. I aslo managed to experience a 5-minute snow in Mt. Fuji hehe. I know its pathetic but I was overjoyed. I will definitely be back again to experience heavy snow in the future.
So, back to my title of this post - friend or foe?
To not implicate or complicate things further, I realised who my real friends are. Some things are best kept in silence. I learned new things every day. I met new people along the way since the start of my soccer journey. Life is such. People come and go. Having said that, I am thankful that I have crossed paths with friends, be it new, old, close or even a foe.
Quote of the day: People come & go, be true to yourself.
